Simply doing nothing
The 25 metre pool, 5 five saunas, various quiet rooms, wellness bar, fresh air lawn are all perfect for putting your feet up and getting your head down.
Everything’s possible – all with the comfort of a hotel, from the wellness area with its 25-metre pool, five saunas, quiet rooms, yoga and exercise room and wide-ranging outdoor programme, in both summer and winter. There are a reception area, lobby, bar and the Sky Restaurant with its panoramic views of the magnificent surrounding mountains, where breakfast, consisting of regional products, and dinner, with an oft-changing menu, all await guests. Nothing’s a must in the relaxed carefree atmosphere of a holiday apartment. The apartments themselves have their own kitchen, living area, private loggia, and terrace or private garden.
A holiday at the Hirben invites you to let go, switch off and relax. It will also recharge your batteries, inspire you and awaken your spirit. Spend time together, all in complete freedom – and all just as you like it.

For us, the Hirben is a place to put down roots, an environment where you can feel truly at ease and forge deep connections: with others but, most importantly, with yourself. So look forward to it!

The Hirben Nature Hotel is a labour of love – run as a family business with a genuine passion for sustainability, naturalness and regional roots. The architecture is modern yet close to nature, with plenty of wood and clean lines: a CO₂-neutral building that radiates tranquillity and blends harmoniously into the landscape. But what really makes the Hirben special is its atmosphere – relaxed, honest and unforced. It is not a standard hotel or typical apartment building, but rather a place where you can just be yourself. Breakfast? Yes – regional produce, often organic. Dinner? Of course – as optional half board. And, if you’d rather cook for yourself, no problem – you’ve got your own kitchen. All true to our motto: “Everything’s possible – nothing’s a must”.
Our hotel is located in Villabassa (Niederdorf) in the Upper Puster Valley, in the midst of nature yet with excellent transport connections. The railway station is just a five-minute walk away, ideal for travelling in a climate-friendly way. The Dolomites are right on the doorstep, as are the Fanes-Sennes-Prags Nature Park, Lake Braies, the starting point for the Dolomites High Mountain Trail no. 1 and the Three Peaks of Lavaredo. For hiking, cycling, skiing or cross-country skiing – the Hirben makes the perfect starting point for spending days in the great outdoors.
Yes, absolutely! Our apartments are spacious, while there is a play area next to the restaurant, two natural playgrounds in the immediate vicinity and all sorts to discover in the surrounding area – from the cycle path to Lienz, not to mention Lake Toblach. Our catering options are also tailored to families: you can have breakfast served in the morning; you’re welcome to cook for yourself in the evening. Or, for a treat, simply book our evening menu. We aim to accommodate every family member.
There are free outdoor parking spaces for guests directly at the hotel: we also offer charging stations for electric vehicles. If you are arriving by train, we will be happy to pick you up from the station on request – straightforward, personal and sustainable.
South Tyrol is our home – and you can tell by the languages we speak, with German, Italian and English all a matter of course for us. We communicate on equal terms, no matter where our guests are from.
